Week 1
Hello,
My name is Lillian and I am originally from Malawi, Africa, been in the USA for 8 and a half years. I decided to become a nurse 5 years ago. I started my journey at Raritan Valley Community College in NJ as a part time student. I took some classes at Gateway Community College and attended my ADN at Beckfield College and graduated 04/21. My family especially my husband was and still is proud of me for obtaining my degree. To my disappointment I failed the boards twice. It is heartbreaking and made me feel like a failure. It was hard to pull myself up and start all over again.
When I heard about this course and a few testimonies I was so motivated, and I decided to enroll in the 4-day class and the 6-week class. I currently feel motivated and I am hopeful that I will be able to finish my journey and be an RN if I put my work and effort into it. No pain, no gain!
Lastly, I would like to take some time and thank you for offering this course. I find this course super helpful. Looking forward to these 6 weeks!
Let’s do this!!
Week 3
I have gained so much confidence with this review comparing to the 1st week when we started. Even though I tend to over think myself during tests, I have noticed that my grades are improving by the day. I have established a strategy that is assisting me with studying and tackling the questions/material better.
I take my time to read the questions and understand what the question is really asking me. With Pharm especially if I don’t know the medication, I look at the end of that sentence or begging it usually gives out the idea of what that medication is for. The more I study, the more I recognize the answers.
What ways am I helping?
(Knowledge). the way you go over the material is mind-blowing!
(Explanation). well broken-down explanations, easy to understand.
(Repetition). Is the major key, I went through nursing school without understanding lab values and connecting them to the disease process, side effects and such. Now I understand it all! Having all of us participate in answering questions out loud has helped me to recall information and sometimes I hear my classmate’s voices when answering questions. I truly am thankful!
(Motivation). hearing your words of encouragement e.g. calling us Reg Nurses when most of us doubted that we can achieve it. Seeing Steven, I believe that I can do it as well!
(Accountability). Putting the work!!! Showing up to class. Participating in answering questions and committing to 50q a day, Study study study.
Week 5
As confidence is building up, so does my anxiety! I have learned so much so far and I still feel like I need to learn more. Oh well, they say you won’t know everything on NCLEX!
I am doing my best to practice as many questions as I can to gain as much content as I possibly can without cramming. I have moments that I get nervous, but I have gained so much confidence in tackling questions and I have seen a great change in my grades. As the test is getting near, I am taking it day by day.
Looking forward to the next class!
Week 6
What a journey it has been!! Ups and downs but here we are approaching the end of it all. I have learned a whole lot during these weeks. I felt good that I was gaining confidence in tackling questions and getting familiar to the question/content as a whole. I know the content better than I did during nursing school. However, today’s test/assessment left me shocked to get borderline result. I cried the whole way home. I know the problem I have is changing answers as I go, such a bummer! I will work on it for these remaining 2 weeks and hopefully I get better at it. Also practice relaxation techniques.
The great thing that you did today that I will always appreciate is having us pretend as if it’s the actual test date! It made me have the actual feeling of the test date. Needless to say, I will continue drilling myself with questions and review content and hope for the best to be an RN. God willing plus hard work. Thank you for what you are doing, you’re the best and I hope I will be on the other side of the road after the 9th.
I hope I will make you proud and not waste your precious time all these weeks! Fingers 🤞
Thanks again!
Week 6
How exciting to get this far! It has been a great experience with the Codebreaker program. Nick has worked so hard and so did I and the rest of my classmates. What I love about this program is his commitment. That makes me think I can! His commitment in the program is amazing. The positivity, knowledge, friendliness, all good vibes most of all the content! I mean content content! I didn’t even want to miss a day of it. The way he breaks down the material, from pharm to the whole gist of it all. Wow mind blowing!
Before week 6, a few people had already passed the boards and I tell you that’s encouraging for me. I was nervous on week 5 but seeing other’s pass, it seems possible for me too. Elimination process, lol! At this point I can’t wait to take the test. I want to make everyone around me proud plus all my classmates and Nick! I am being positive that I am going to be an RN in a week because I have put in the work, God willing!
Post Pass
I would like to extend my thank you note to Nick for the endless hardworking that he put in during our review. I am humbled for them most amazing experience. I want to tell you that your program has contributed a lot to my success. And yes! I passed my NCLEX and am so excited! It shut off at 75 questions and I handled each question with so much pride and confidence. I knew that I had passed when I got out that testing center. I can’t thank you enough. Keep doing what you are doing it, it is amazing, and I hope to see more nurses from this program. Thank you thank you!
