Week 1
I graduated in April 2021; I went to a private college. Unfortunately, I don’t feel like they did a very good job at preparing me for the NCLEX. I felt like majority of the teachers read off power points and made up a test and gave it to us vs actually explaining and making sure we understood the ends and outs, the rules with the test etc. I’ve failed my NCLEX 3 times. I been attending Nicks class since before my third test but going into this 4th I already feel confident in knowing the material and test taking strategies.
Week 3
Going into week 3 I’m feeling really good. I definitely feel more confident than I ever have, I’m starting to understand concepts better, my test score on Uworld have been average or above average because I’m taking my time reading the questions and I’m understanding what it’s asking, and I’m noticing I know concepts behind each answer which leads me to the correct one. I think you’re helping me with everything as far as knowledge, accountability, confidence, explanations and the repetitiveness. I think I need to improve more on my meds and pharm, I’m doing a lot better I noticed but I still find myself mixing a few up. I also need to improve on my dosage more or so the mL/hr, and gtt/min.
Week 5
Going into week 5, I can tell my anxiety is rising, just because I take my test on March 4th so I have two more weeks, and I just don’t want the outcome to be the same it has been in the past. But besides that, I’ve been feeling a lot more confident that I got it this time. I feel more confident in knowing the information I need to know and knowing how to look at the questions. I know to take my time to be sure what it’s asking. The knowledge I’ve gained throughout these 5 weeks has helped me with seeing answers and putting the story together as to why that may or may not be correct. Having people in class in the same boat as me and their support and confidence in me along with Nick has helped these past 5 weeks as well. Here in 2 weeks I will be Hannah Hoskins RN.
Week 6
WOW! Seeing my results today vs 6 weeks ago or whenever I took my first predictor is insane. I went from 29% to 64% and very high chance of passing my NCLEX. This class has helped me stay motivated, and confident in myself in everything I know, everything that was reinforced, and everything new I’ve learned throughout these 6 weeks. Going into today I was nervous but confident. I used test taking strategies, I took my time, and used what I knew to guide me to the correct answers or being confident in my answers. Going into my NCLEX test this fourth time, especially now after seeing these results, I’m excited to test again.
Post pass NCLEX
The week before my test, my anxiety was through the roof. But I stayed hopeful and confident that after March 4th I was going to be Hannah Hoskins RN. The past 6 week were long, each week we went over different areas, I did 50-100 questions daily, did the reading, it was quite exhausting. But going to class each day to see the same people in my shoes, supporting one another and believing each other, cheering each other on, made it so easy. I knew facts about everything I was asked on my NCLEX. I went in there with the mind set I was taking another Uworld test. I passed in 80 questions. I could not be more thankful for attending Nicks class, he keeps you on your toes, he makes learning and reviewing everything fun and simple, he’s there through the whole process, keeping your anxiety at bay, making you feel confident, and helping answer any questions you may have. I believe that thanks to taking his class I was successful on this fourth attempt. And as of March 4th, I am Hannah Hoskins RN.
